Κάθε παιχνίδι είναι μια γιορτή στο αμερικάνικο μπάσκετ. Γι’αυτό εκτός απο το καθιερωμένο παιχνίδι πρέπει να υπάρχουν και πρόσθετες μορφές διασκέδασης στο παρκέ. Λένε οτι οι τσιρλίντερς είναι μέρος του παιχνιδιού. Το ίδιο ακριβώς είναι και οι μασκότ, μέρος του παιχνιδιού και κομμάτι της κάθε ομάδας.
